I Miss School: Baruah Gunuang

Last week after presenting my research in the 3rd IRSA International Institute in Andalas University, Padang I extend my day in West Sumatra by visiting my old home town, Payakumbuh. My Mom and Dad already move to Payakumbuh since 2 years ago and before moved, they live in Baruah Gunuang, a small village in Lima Puluh Kota Regency.

On July 24 2011, Sunday afternoon together with Adi Putra, my cousin that live in Bangkinan we visited our big family in Baruah Gunuang. I met with my grandma and other families. There’s one story that remain me of Baruah Gunuang and that’s about education. I spent my 1st grade until 5th grade elementary school in one of the oldest school in Baruah Gunuang which is Sekolah Dasar Negeri 56 (SDN 56), Baruah Gunuang and recently change into Sekolah Dasar Negeri 05 (SDN 05), Baruah Gunuang.

Just like what the other said about childhood time, we really having fun playing the game “catch me if you can” by climbing up to the trees and if someone hit the ground. He/she must catch another player so he/she can change the catcher. That’s a fun game and need high precision and mental to climb and jump from ont trees to other trees.

Well, during the “extra vacation time”, I’ve visited my old school and I grab some pictures with a DSLR camera that I borrowed from my friend, Enjun.
