Yangki Imade Suara during the 15th UNFCCC Climate Change Conference (COP15) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Yangki Imade Suara dreams is travelling around the world. During winter 2008 he spend a month in the USA as the official delegates from Padjadjaran University in the 54th Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN) Conference held by Harvard University, Boston, MA, USA.
As an economics student, in 2009 he also selected to represent Padjadjaran University in International Economics Summit BlissPoint 2009 held by Sri Venkateswara College (Delhi University), Delhi, India. Since 2008, with colleagues from the Economics Department, Padjadjaran University he developed Kandank Ilmu which is an online project to provide course’s material for economics students and in the other hand, that project also reduce paper consumption among students. Later, that project becoming the best project in Danamon Young Leaders Award 2009 for its impact on the environment.
His interest in the environment makes him appointed to represent the Indonesian Youth under Global South Youth Delegation in the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference, commonly known as the Copenhagen Summit or the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP 15) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
In 2010, he was selected as Forest Friends Indonesia by WWF-Indonesia (May 2010) together with Rima & Mia. After working together with Hanna (as partner), Lena & Gerrit (Forest Friends Germany), he raised 6,378 fans and converted to 63,780 trees that will be planted in the Tesso Nilo National Park in 2011 to celebrate International Year of Forest and also to preserve the Sumatran Tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae) population. Forest Friends is a joint project between WWF-Indonesia and WWF-Germany.
He also selected to represent Indonesia in the 2nd Global Young Greens Congress in Berlin, Germany and one of the outcomes of this congress is to establish and to connect Greens in regional level (August 2010). He also an alumnus of the Study of the United States Institute (SUSI) for Student Leaders on Energy and Environment – Institute of Training and Development Amherst (ITD-Amherst) & University of Massachusetts (UMass) after selected as one of the students from Indonesia and spending 5 week summer school in Amherst-MA, Tucson-AZ and Washington-DC.
In February 2011, he just received a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Padjadjaran University, after completing and defending a bachelor thesis on “The Impact of Climate Change on Export Growth of Twenty Major Greenhouse Gases (GHG) Emitting Countries” under the supervision of distinguished scholar in Environmental and Resource Economics, Dr. Arief Anshory Yusuf.
In October 2011 he was invited to participate in the 2011 Gwangju Youth Summit sponsored by UNEP Korea. Prior to his social work for Global Young Greens (GYG), he spent 10 days in Senegal, Dakar to organize the 2nd GYG Congress.
