Hi everyone, for all of you who were at the vigil and saw Ceesay leading the singing, or saw Josh up on stage the day after… These two young geniuses recorded this awesome song the day after COP15 finished. I’ve been asked to upload the final mix, so everybody download it and stick it on your ipods!

Brings (HOPE) in Copenhagen

Welcome to (HOPE)NHAGEN

I was so lucky for having time to participate in one of the big conference around the world in the end of 2009. The 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference, commonly known as the Copenhagen Summit, was held at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark, between 7 December and 18 December. The conference included the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP 15) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the 5th Meeting of the Parties (MOP 5) to the Kyoto Protocol. According to the Bali Road Map (COP13) in 2007, a framework for climate change mitigation beyond 2012 was to be agreed there.

For my self, this is my first time participate in UNFCCC event and based on information from European Youth Forum (my sponsor), there’s one more student that got selected to participate in this event. Her name is Dian and she’s studying in UK.

I arrived at Kastrup Airport at 9am and Iben (my friend and he’s studying in Lund University, Sweden and lived with his wife Kak Devina) asked me to buy train ticket and he’ll waiting for me in Malmö, a city in the southern part of Sweden and very closed to Copenhagen, approx. 1 hour by train.

At 4 pm, we decided to go to coffee bar with Billy (Iben friend) from Lund and he’s coming to Malmö. Because it’s in winter time, we had short day and 4 pm in Malmö just like the same with 7 pm in Bandung. Everything is so dark and so cold (1 degree Celsius).

I still had my jet lag and after having a cup of coffee and a very nice conversation with Billy about Greek news and some tradition in Greek, we decided to get home and I have to prepare for tomorrow event which is called Conference of Youth 5 (COY5), an annual conference held by International Youth Climate Movement (IYCM) before Conference of the Parties (COP) began.
